The Verge reports that TikTok users are noticing that the #intersex hashtag keeps disappearing on the platform, raising questions about possible censorship of intersex people.

TikTok later said the tag had been removed by mistake.

However, since the company does not list banned words and phrases in its community guidelines, and did not make a public statement about the removal, Pagonis and others can only speculate about whether they were being censored.

TikTok also stands accused of limiting the reach of posts by LGBTQ, disabled, ugly and poor people, and of suppressing Black creators.
