AI music generator Suno AI played a role in the summer 2024 UK anti-immigration riots by being used to generate xenophobic music.
An anti-immigration Facebook group employed Suno's AI technology to create a song titled "Southport Saga," which features an AI-generated female voice singing lines such as "hunt them down somehow" in reference to the mass stabbing and murder of three young girls by Axel Rudakubana at a Taylor Swift–themed yoga and dance workshop in Southport, UK.
"Southport Saga" song is seen as part of a broader strategy by far-right groups in the UK to use AI tools to produce content that spreads misinformation and incites violence.
