Suno AI is seen to face significant transparency and accountability limitations:
Data sources. Suno refuses to disclose the data used to train its AI models or the specifics of its algorithms, raising concerns about biases and ethical implications.
Decision-making processes. The service uses experimental technology that may produce inaccurate or offensive content without clear explanations of how these outputs are generated or why certain decisions are made.
User data controls. Users have limited control over the retention and use of their data, as Suno reserves the right to change data storage practices without notice and to terminate inactive accounts, potentially leading to loss of user-generated content.
Accountability. Suno does not take responsibility for user-generated content and lacks mechanisms for users to challenge or understand the AI's decisions, thereby undermining accountability.
Suno has beeen accused of systemically plagiarising third-party content and violating copyright. It has also been criticised for exposing users to inappropriate content in the form of inappropriate or harmful lyrics, and for devaluing and degrading human creativity.
